This oxidised silver disc necklace is a darker, more rugged counterpart to my core silver disc design. Made from recycled sterling silver, the surface is textured using my rough hammer technique, creating deeper, more irregular marks that stand out strongly once the silver is blackened. Each disc is oxidised by hand to bring out the contrast between the metal’s darker tones and the warm gold applied across the surface.
Rather than the bright, reflective finish of standard silver, the oxidation gives this piece a soft matte black tone that feels contemporary while still showing the rhythm and weight of the making process. The gold detail remains bright against the darkened silver, giving the necklace a quiet focal point without becoming decorative or busy.
Every pendant is shaped, soldered, filed, and textured individually, then oxidised and sealed to protect the finish. Because the rough hammer texture is created by hand, the marks vary slightly on each one — no two discs will have the same pattern or shadowing, making each necklace subtly unique.
The oxidised finish pairs naturally with the more rugged texture, giving this piece a slightly bolder presence while still being wearable enough for everyday use. It sits comfortably on the body and works well alone or layered with lighter silver pieces for contrast.

Jewellery Care
Jewellery Care
Sterling silver jewellery will naturally change over time with wear and exposure to air, moisture, and skin contact. To keep your piece looking its best, store it carefully when not worn and avoid contact with water, perfumes, and household chemicals.
Detailed care advice for sterling silver, including information on oxidised finishes and gold-plated areas, can be found in the jewellery care guide.
